Raqmiyat, the UAE-based software developer and systems integrator, partnered with Microsoft for GITEX 2004, held in Dubai.
This is Raqmiyat's third participation at the information technology and communications trade show, and company COO Tapas Roy indicated that his focus this year was on growth - through developing new partnerships, new products and new markets.
He said: "This year we had opted to exhibit with Microsoft to help support the growth of the IT sector in the UAE."
"We showcased a number of products we have developed based on Microsoft technologies - and launching two more - as we believe that the best way to increase our business in this competitive market is through alliances and innovation."
According to a recent survey from International Data Corp, the Middle East has been identified as one of the four global hot-spots for IT spending, with an expected 15 per cent growth rate.
Roy continued: "We are keen to raise awareness of our offerings in the market in an area - and at an event - that is considered the heart of the IT sector in the region."
Raqmiyat held seminars on their Microsoft dotNet platform-based Application Development Framework.
Roy explained: "Our line of signature solutions cover a niche software market and we are currently on course to becoming a key player in the broader regional software sector."
Raqmiyat were on the Microsoft stand (Hall 8, partner stand P2, E/1) during GITEX, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 3 to 7.
The company launched its Trade Finance Solution specifically for the banking sector and the Exchange House Software for money exchanges. Application Development Framework for software development houses was showcased as a regionally-developed product.
Raqmiyat also demonstrated Branch Automation/Integrated Retail Delivery Solution from Unisys for the banking sector, as well as Raqmiyat's Services for Migration to new technologies.
